OVOP One Village One Product International Committee President visited Hoa Binh Province

On May 18th, OVOP One Village One Product International Committee President from Oita, Japan, Mr. Tadashi Uchida and VIRI, Vietcraft had a meeting with Hoa Binh Province and Ha Phong Orange Cooperative.

On May 18th, OVOP One Village One Product International Committee President from Oita, Japan, Mr. Tadashi Uchida and VIRI, Vietcraft had a meeting with Hoa Binh Province and Ha Phong Orange Cooperative.

In the meeting program, Vietnam Rural Industries Research and Development Institute and Vietnam Handicraft Exporters’ Association had a meeting with Hoa Binh Province DPC for 60 minutes. Participating the meeting are Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy Chairman of Hoa Binh Province DPC and representatives from Department of Agriculture, Cooperative Union, leaders of Cao Phong District and Kim Boi District, etc. Mr. Uchida introduced the movement One Village One Product (OVOP) in Japan and he also shared ways to develop local specialities. Mr. Uchida shared different locations for Hoa Binh Province to learn more about developing OVOP movement. He also stressed that OVOP could help the locals to gain a product with added value that further leads to a better and more sustainable lifestyles.

Representing Hoa Binh Province, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung thanks Mr. Tadashi Uchida for sharing his precious knowledge in developing OVOP in Japan, especially in the scene where Prime Minister just signed Decision 490 approving One Village One Product Program period 2018 – 2020.

In the same afternoon, Mr. Uchida and the mission visited Ha Phong Orange Cooperative in Cao Phong District. Mr. Uchida was pleased with the development of the cooperative, contributing to improving the livelihoods of local people, especially women. He also introduced Japanese orange product cooperatives, hoping that in the coming time, the cooperative will be able to diversify the cooperative products.
