Nam Cao linen products conquer domestic and foreign customers by their unique characteristics: They look thick but are soft and smooth to the touch, cool to the touch, the fabric is very airy, cool in the summer, warm in the winter, very durable, easy to wash, bleach and dry quickly.
Over hundreds of years, the linen weaving profession in Nam Cao has been prosperous and declining, but in any difficult period, the people here know how to overcome to maintain and develop the traditional profession that has brought fame and income to this land.
The process of weaving linen threads is done by hand. Silk and linen threads are formed from silkworm pupae. After being pulled and rolled into “piles”, the linen threads need to be carefully cooked to make the threads soft and loose. After cooking, the linen threads are beaten into large tubes and then beaten into small bobbins to be put into the weaving shuttle. Linen and linen scarves are woven into long pieces, these pieces will be cooked and dyed or left raw depending on the type of product. If it is silk scarves, the linen scarves will be cut into individual scarves and spun into tassels.
One of the business people who always wants to preserve and develop the craft village is the silk girl Hanh silk. Nam Cao linen products have been brought by Hanh silk to domestic and foreign customers, receiving positive feedback.
The golden silkworm baskets always follow the children of the homeland along with the sound of the shuttle day and night. From the process of the silkworms laboriously spinning silk to the hard-working hands of the women spinning and weaving, sympathy, sharing and attachment; That businesswoman is passionate about silk, always anxious and looking for a direction for a craft village that once flourished:
“A thousand years, ten thousand years
The silkworm still lives as a silkworm spinning silk
Oh, nine to ten waiting
Who are you waiting for, who are you waiting for, who are you waiting for?”
In the coming time, hopefully with the hearts of dedicated businessmen, the talent of artisans here, and the efforts of the local government, the silk weaving craft of Nam Cao commune, Kien Xuong district will develop strongly again, contributing to preserving and developing the long-standing traditional craft, as well as becoming a bright spot for tourism in the province.
