Closing ceremony of sub-project: Promoting fair trade in Vietnam

On the afternoon of August 28, the sub-project:” Promoting Fair Trade in Vietnam” held the closing ceremony at the Melia Hotel, Hanoi with the participation of the European Union Delegation, Representatives of EU MUTRAP, the associations, organizations, experts and businesses. After three years of unremitting endeavor of the Vietnam Rural Industry Research and Development Institute and its co-implementing partners: Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association, Vietnam Tea Association, Vietnam Coffee, Cocoa Association, the sub- project has been successful, marking the journey of promoting fair trade in Vietnam

On the afternoon of August 28, the sub-project:” Promoting Fair Trade  in Vietnam” held the closing ceremony at the Melia Hotel, Hanoi with the participation of the European Union Delegation, Mrs Miriam Garcia Ferrer – Trade Counselor – Head of Economics and Trade section; Ms. Colette Odriscoll – Programs Director of Cooperation and Development section, Ms. Phan Thanh Tam – Finance and Contract section, Representatives of EU MUTRAP Project Management Board are Mr. Claudio Dordi – Chief Technical Advisor EU MUTRAP, Ms. Le Thu Ha – Project Coordinator, Ms. Ha Le Minh – Project staff. There are also the participation of associations, organizations, experts and businesses who are interested in Fair trade.

After three years of unremitting endeavor of the Vietnam Rural Industry Research and Development Institute and its co-implementing partners: Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association, Vietnam Tea Association, Vietnam Coffee, Cocoa Association, the sub- project has been successful, marking the journey of promoting fair trade in Vietnam such as: 12 units were supported with fair trade certification; 333 enterprises are trained in fair trade through 10 training courses and 10 study tours; Vietnam fair trade products were widely introduced in the fair trade shop system,  10 domestic trade fair and 5 international trade fairs; fair trade knowledge is widely disseminated to all people through documents, brochures, TV shows, events, seminars, booths at the trade fair which were implemented by sub-project; the sub-project website received more than 410,000 visits up to now; business capacity and turnover of enterprises were enhanced; more and more community support programs were implemented from fair trade fair premiums sources…

At the ceremony, the positive comments from the Delegation of the European Union and the EU-MUTRAP project management board were a great encouragement for the project executives to continue on the path of promoting fair trade in Vietnam in the future. At the same time, the beneficiaries of the project also show their appreciate to EU Delegation, Project management board and the sub-project staffs for their support during last time.

End of the program, the participants attended the closing ceremony took a memorial photo  in order to keep this memorable moment, and recording the achievements achieved after three years implementation of subproject :”Promoting Fair Trade  in Vietnam”
