General purpose of the project:
Technical support for the development of a sustainable value chain for medicinal plants to improve the income of forest-dependent communities, reduce deforestation and forest degradation, lower carbon emissions, and enhance carbon sequestration and forest carbon stocks in Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Quang Tri and Quang Nam province
Specific objectives:
- To improve capacity in the sustainable production of medicinal plants for CFEs and forest dependent people.
- To strengthen capacity on sustainable landscape issues for local (provincial, district and commune) institutions.
- To improve business performance for CFEs through research, product development, branding and market linkages.
To leverage resources from the public and private sector and communities through working with different medicinal plant value chain actors and investors to mobilize investments for scaling up medicinal plant activities in a sustainable manner
