Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Implementing the Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR)
Within the framework of the Innovation and Competitiveness Grant Program (ICG) under the Vietnam–Switzerland Trade Cooperation Program, the Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) and the Vietnam Rural Industries Research and Development Institute (VIRI) have completed the Guidelines for Implementing Deforestation-free Agricultural Production for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Next, VIRI will organize 4 dissemination meetings and 2 training courses on the EUDR for around 200 participants from coffee enterprises and supporting organizations in Hanoi, Lam Dong, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City during September and October, 2025.
Complying with the EUDR brings many practical benefits for enterprises. First, enterprises can maintain and expand their export markets to the EU—an important market with high standards and significant added value. At the same time, compliance with the EUDR helps enhance reputation and build a positive image with customers and international partners thanks to transparency and a commitment to sustainable production. Enterprises will also strengthen supply chain management capacity, mitigate legal and trade risks, and create long-term competitive advantages.
