The project “Building capacity for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to implement sustainable production in Vietnam as continuation part of the EU Eco-Fair Project” is the next step of the Eco-Fair Project funded by the EU.
Currently, Small and Medium Enterprises in the agri-food processing field in Vietnam still lack the capacity, access to information and effective financial management, as well as a favorable environment to implement sustainable production. In that context, the Project: “Promotion of supply and demand of Eco-Fair agri-food processing products in Vietnam” (Eco Fair project) has created a significant improvement in building the capacity of MSMEs including product and production innovation, access to finance, e-platforms and mobile learning services to enhance sustainable trade as well as develop a favorable environment for scaling up the eco-fair model. Although there are MSMEs relatively ready for ecological equity implementation, including in terms of technical and managerial capacity, there are still many MSMEs that need a lot of support to build capacity and training to earn eco-fair certifications.
Therefore, the project “Building capacity for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to implement sustainable production in Vietnam as continuation part of the EU Eco-Fair Project” is the next step of the Eco-Fair Project funded by the EU. At the same time, this project is also in line with the EU’s Green Initiative and contributes to the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the priority objectives of the respective Vietnam’s national development strategy/programme through raising MSMEs’ awareness of the agricultural circular economy and improving the capacity of MSMEs to implement sustainable production. The implementation duration is from January to October 2023 and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, represented by the Embassy of Bulgaria in Vietnam. The project will continue to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Vietnam on the path of sustainable production, keeping pace with the development trend of the world economy.
