Pioneering enterprises/cooperatives signed a pledge to support the Code of Conduct on environmentally responsible business in the fruit and vegetable sector

The Code of Conduct for Environmentally Responsible Business for the Fruit and Vegetable Sector in Vietnam (CoC) is a part of the project “Advancing environmentally responsible business for the coffee sector and fruit & vegetable sector in Vietnam” by the Vietnam Rural Industry Research and Development Institute (VIRI) and the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VINAFRUIT) with the funding and technical support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam and the Government of Sweden. The Code is voluntary with the aim to support the sustainable development of the fruit and vegetable sector and its businesses by identifying and setting criteria to help businesses manage risks from the negative impact of fruit and vegetable production and processing activities in the businesses’s supply chain on the environment and protect the human rights of environmental stakeholders. The company’s companionship and support for the CoC is an important step to put the CoC into practice, spreading great values, embracing a bright future and sustainable living environment for next generations. Up to the present time, the project has received 24 enterprises/cooperatives showed their commitment to support and implement the “Codes of conduct on environmentally responsible business for the fruit & vegetables sector in Viet Nam”.
