Eakiet Fair Agricultural Service Cooperative was previously known as Eakiet Fair Trade Group. The group was founded on October 2008 and converted to a cooperative on March 2011. On the first step of formation, the cooperative has only 48 members, now the cooperative has 97 members in which 4 are of ethnic minorities, 44 are women and 53 are men. The area of production is at 183 hectars with output of 722 tons of FLO certified produce.

The area of production is at 183 hectars with output of 722 tons of FLO certified produce. 1.Through the (FLO) sustainable coffee production, the cooperative has achieved the following successes. + On society: Push forward the social and economic development of small producing household with democratic treatments without discrimination to different member groups of the economic ladders, transparency in economic activities while creating a good product for the society. Support local agencies in achieving new rural development goals. Support the nationalistic ideal cooperation. Support investment in better quality product. Create jobs for cooperative members. Increase the cooperation in the community. + On economics: Increase income, improve livelihoods from members with savings and sustainable development. + On environment: Ensure the sustainability and the maintenance of the development of cultivation in natural habitats. Keep clean and safe environment with training on care and protection of plants such as general disease management, update information on any disease outbreak, solution and prevention of diseases. Use plant protection products correctly. Grow plants with shades, preventing wind and protect vegetation from erotion and damage to water resources. Ensure waste management. Practice no hunting or trading of endangered species. Prevent fire. Ensure no GMO. + On working conditions: Always ensure safety and health for labours. No discrimination on races, ethnicity, genders, etc. No forced labours. No child labours under 15 years old. No children not allowed to go to school or not allowed to develop socially, mentally and mentally as young citizens. Especially raise awareness and protect the rights of women and children. 2. Economic and social effectiveness. One: Stable coffee product prices, generally higher than the market of 2.500VND/kg – 3.000VND/kg. The livelihoods of members are raised by 15 – 20 millions per year. Two: Annually, member households are trained on cultivation techniques to help inform members in detection of diseases on coffee with the best prevention possible. The instruction on coffee bud grafting and bio fermentation of coffee has reduce investment and increase revenue. Three: Know how to organise financially through record keeping. Annually, the cooperative supports members by purchasing health insurance, visiting when members get sick or meet with accidents, providing gifts on holidays with value of 800.000 VND. Children of cooperative members with high achievement in education receive 300.000 VND for good mention and 200.000 VND for above average mention. Have the chance to learn from other businesses. Four: For cooperative, annual revenue is made up mostly from certified coffee. As such, together with the local government the cooperative decided to invest on road for local rural areas as part of the plan for new rural development. Now, the cooperative has contributed 4km of road, in which 3 km of concrete road in village 2, 6, 9 and 1 km gravel road for village 11 with total investment of 2 billion VND. The cooperative also contributed support in the general lighting system for village 5 and 8 in order to keep community safety; 40 million VND to the commune with the programme to support people living in the offshore islands with 10 million VND and poor people in Tet holiday with 5 million VND; 5 million VND support for local charity eye operations; and 40 million VND directly to local ethnic minorities. The cooperative has run many arts and sports events with investment of tens of million VND along with regular support for programs like flood prevention and local national security prevention.
